Yet another Ski vs. Snowboard Question?

I’m a rank beginner in both sports. I’ve been Skiing 4 times and Snowboarding once. My biggest problem skiing has been learning to control my speed. I’m alright with turning and have no problem keeping my Skis parallel but it seems like I always get up more speed than I’m comfortable with. I’ve read that snowboards are inherently slower, but I never got beyond the falling on my ass stage to find out.
Is boarding is slower by nature? In general do beginners feel more in control of their speed when boarding or skiing?

I’m at a high level in skiing and boarding and I honestly think that skiing has a little more speed control.
But, falling on you but is gonna happen to every snowboard beginner out there, keep snowboarding it up and see if you get a liking to it. snowboards are in fact slower by nature but have an uncanny success rate. most beginner boarders, if persistent, agree that boarding is easier to get good at(easier to get to the point where you stop falling and start really having fun) than skiing. my advice, get a few more days of boarding under your belt then keep on skiing and boarding alternately until you can decide which is best for you.
